Says festivals serve opportunity for coming together, celebrating spirit of India

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 13 (KNO) : Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today paid obeisance at Aap Shambu Mandir, Roop Nagar on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri and prayed for peace and prosperity in the state. While interacting with the devotees there, Deputy Chief Minister said that these occasions and festivals serve as a great opportunity for people to come together and celebrate the festivals and the spirit of India. He said that we should come together and pray for peace in our State. While referring to the celebrations of Maha Shivratirti in the state, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the festival is being celebrated by active participation of other communities as well, which speaks a lot about our pluralistic values and mutual brotherhood.

The Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated a community langar and distributed Prasad to the devotees as well. Later, Dr Singh also paid obeisance at Shiv temple near university.(KNO)
